Increasing Warcraft III Performance - Vista

I Have a vista and have had many lag problems over the few months i have had it. There are alot of things you can do to increase your Overall FPS/Performance While Playing Warcraft III TFT. Though this is quite small it contains a few methods i found increase my perfomance while using vista over my time. I would love to here you feedback on this. For the record im using Vista - Home Preimium​

Method 1 - Aero Theme

While you may think that using this theme with all its special effects will decrease your fps in warcraft III , for me i was wrong. While using Aero Theme I had about a +10 FPS increase while playing Warcraft.​

Method 2 - Priority

Making Warcraft III The highest priorty worked a little for me , though it was small i saw less lag spikes and a little fps increase. So what you do is Press CNTRL + ALT + Delete and go to task manager. Then go to the proccess tab and find "war3.exe". Right click it and set its priority to "Highest".​

Method 3 - XP

Comparing My XP's Frames Per Second And My Vista's FPS. My XP Has a usual 50-60 FPS while my Vista has around 20-30. So i had the idea to run Warcraft In a XP Compadibility mode and quess what , My Fps Increased to About 40-50 ( Note My Vista is a laptop ). So heres how to do this. 1) Go to your Warcraft III Folder. 2) Find war3.exe And Right Click It. 3) Go to Properties and the compadibility Tab. 4) And Click the box " Run in combadibilty Mode " and select Windows XP Service Package 2.​

Wow, dude.
I've been using Vista (Home Premium) for a long time, and I've never experienced any problems with WC3.
-Maybe the frame drops because of leaks in your maps?

I believe there's a max amount of FPS allowed in WC3, because my FPS always stays at 64-65.

Yea , i get that alot but for me my FPS is shit until i did these things... normally 10-20.
Im on a laptop but idk if that means anything

Laptops are usually not as powerful as desktop computers.
I'm guessing is slightly too "weak" to handle Vista, and will probably run better with XP.

I Also have a pretty poor graphics card , but its standard with the vista computer i have so if people dont have enough $ to buy a graphics card they could go by this.

thx this sounds legit ill try on the only map i ever had lag "zombie Attack" but thats cause there was 50000+ projectiles and 100000 Eniemes and the Projectiles fired every .1

Don't use imageshack.

I Tried opengl and it worked. Lets see if it can stay this way.

I have used some of my methods and they only worked temporarily.

Hm. My computer seems to work fine, and it's a laptop as well. That might just be because it's an alienware and 11 months old

What does this openGL do?

Well, for me, it boosts my FPS.
I think it's just a performance booster, but don't fret;
Even Blizzard says it's okay to use: here .

It changes the way the graphics are displayed. While I don't understand it completely, I believe it changes from using DirectX to openGL.

I think it changes from Direct3D [I don't know if that is DirectX].
I'm thinking this because;
I downloaded the Blizzard Video Test, and there was the option to check Direct3D and OpenGL.
Either way, OpenGL has helped me a lot, and I'd like to see it in the guide , as there's no cons to using it [as long as your computer can] that I know of.
