is there an easy way to do this?

is there a normal ability that could do this:
make a melle hero have a ranged attack for x seconds.

like maybe war club, but not have to pick up a tree.
or the chaos upgrade.
or chemical rage?
or something else?

i wouldnt mind a simple trigger, but can you do this without one?

Metamorphosis would work. Morph to an exact copy of the hero except for the attack.

metamorphosis has duration so this will be the closest thing u can make

u could also use

bear form, just swap between range and melee units...but doesnt have duration
