max size wc3 file path

what is the maximum size that a wc3 map can have as file path?

i have created a map called favorites in the map downloads, and no maps show if the map name is longer then 7 chars..

I didn't know there was a limit. So, to get this right, you are saying that you have a map inside a folder called "Favourites" in the folder "Downloads" and it doesn't show up?

yes hats right..
i put all the maps i get from friends or download from the internet in.
Warcraft III\Maps\Download\favorieten
and sometimes in:
Warcraft III\Maps\Download\favorieten\new map

I don't think wc3 allows 2 sub-folders. May be wrong.

well, i have subfolders.. and they work.

i have a series of 3 subfolders on one of my comps. They work.
