Hi,

Short question:
How to remove the mousepad from the hardware list?

I have tried the default action of rightclick => uninstall, but that doesn't work
I've been trying a lot, but it just won't work.

Anyone has a solution?

...A mouse pad is the thing you set your mouse on so it has something to see. A mouse pad isn't hardware at all...

I hope you mean mouse?

wrong word :banghead:

i meant touchpad (the "mouse" on a laptop)

anyways i've tried removing it with device manager, but it says it needs to be rebooted, so i did. After the reboot it again sits pretty in the list.. it's very annoying..

Sidenote: I don't want it just to be disabled, I want it removed from the hardware list, cuz Trine (game) picks out the mice and keyboards from the device list and it defaults to the touchpad etc. in short: want it removed from device manager :p

It might be a hardcoded hardware device that is added each time it gets rebooted.

So, it's not possible to remove it? :S

To clearify:
This is what I tried to remove the device

devicemanagern.png
(The highlighted text means "uninstall")
After that it says to reboot, so i do. After the reboot it's back again.

Did you try doing it in safe mode? or your computers admin account?

some laptops have a button that disable the touch pad (usually near the touchpad)

others might have the touchpad application in the taskbar next to the clock, and you could disable it if its there.

I do not think it's uninstallable. I have a laptop, but I would not prefer you to uninstall it.

If you have to uninstall it, you must pry open your laptop case, remove the pins that connects from the touchpad to the motherboard, and take the touchpad and related stuffs out, close the case, and then you're done.

Another way is to go to the BIOS, disable the touchpad from there, then uninstall in Safe Mode with administrator rights, then you might as well remove the drivers for the touchpad, then you're through.

However, the latter is usually not a generic solution. So, if your BIOS can't disable the touchpad, skip that part.

lol i dont think opening the laptop to uninstall it is a great idea O_O.

just a question, why do you want to uninstall it anyway. o_O

(sometimes i guess it gets annoying if you accidently touch the area)

well i finally got rid of it
I disabled internal pointing device in the BIOS and uninstalled it in device manager. That worked

I wanted to get rid of it cuz i wanted to play Trine co-op and it would set the touchpad as mouse. which is not that practical to play with and uninstalling the touchpad would be most effective to play it.

off-topic: Trine is a fantastic game! Should def try it out :p

...Any mouses you have hooked up to your PC should move whatever you're doing, even if you move them at the same time.

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

You can get there if you click the bell icon (alerts) and choose preferences from the bottom, signature will be in the menu on the left there https://www.thehelper.net/account/preferences

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
