1. To those who already played the Moo Moo map knows this
- In MooMoo, there is this item called Grim Batol where its ability is to reincarnate the wearer. After reincarnating the wearer, the item cooldown for 60 seconds... One trick my friend found is that when you drop the item and pick it up again, the cooldown quickly restarts... Making it abusable coz once you obtained it, you can become immortal if you just drop-and-pick it. Making 60 seconds cooldown item into 0 second cooldown

I too, made an item just like that in my map where it reincarnates the wearer. Now what happens is when I drop the item and pick it up, it also restarts the cooldown.
So I tried other reincarnation skills
I tried using the Reincarnation of Cairne in my item and what it does just removes the hero forever
I tried the Ankh skill and it didn't ressurect the hero

So my question is...
A. Should I just let it be, that once you drop and pick it its cooldown automatically restarts?
B. Should I just make the item not droppable so no one can abuse it?

2. I tried optimizing my map and I was surprised that it made my map from 1,715mb into 1,092mb... I can say my map is already finish, but since my map has a small size I wonder should I add more imports then?

So my question is...
A. Should I add more imports then
B. Be happy that my map has a small size

Thanks in advance :)

1 - A When you drop the item it won't restart the cooldown, unless another unit pick it up, it will only appear to restart.

B If you want to make a item with cooldown to not drop you can either trigger it or you can make it undroppable on editor itself.

2 - It is uo to you, unless you are going to update it later, you should wait till the update to import more things.

1mb isn't small... Downloading across bnet is already pretty slow, and on average, maps are about 600-800kb.

I'd say don't add anymore imports, since it'll just add to the map size and make download timers longer, which often makes people not want to play..

1) I think you should make it undroppable. If you decide to do this make sure that you give each player an item carrier or building (if possible) so that they don't have to pawn it to free up space in their inventory.

2) Not entirely sure.. but it also depends on what you want to import.

You can change this now in User CP.

1 - Detect when the item is in cooldown, then set item states - Undroppable.
Thats what they do to item with active abilities in Dota

2 - A chinese saying goes that "Never add things to stuff that you have finished with"
Unless after some feedback, else dun add anymore things to it until you have enough feedback for it to be improved on.

Okay :)
I'll just add imports when it is necessary :)
Thanks guys :)

Uuum...
Can you explain further the item triggers?
I don't know how to do that kind of item triggers yet

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
