Negative Values Issue

I'm trying to make a negative damage bonus, but when I shift+click on the Data - Attack Bonus field it won't let me set it to negative numbers.
I'm basing the ability of Item Damage Bonus.

Btw, I'm using Mac Os X. Might that have anything to do with this?

File ----> Preferences ----> Allow negative values in object editor.

It's checked. Still no results.

Mac might be the problem.

It's the mac for sure. I can't do lots of negative value things with my mac. Other things as well.

Unfortunately, yes.
Try some other combinations.
Like shift + enter, or ctrl + enter or <cmd> + click, ... or whatever else you have there as usually used modifier keys.
