Ordering unit to cast without default orderstring

I have an ability based on the ability from Scroll of Mana, I believe its called "Area Mana Regen" It has no default orderstring so I'm unsure how to get it to cast using Target Order triggers. I tried giving it the orderstring of fanofknives, as it, like the Scroll of Mana, is a no target ability... but it still wouldn't work. Any idea how I could trigger this?

or you mean that scroll of mana you want to make it as a target, not area?

No... I mean that when using the trigger Unit - Issue Order With No Target, using the orderstring that I've given an ability based off of Area Mana Regen (I think thats what its called) it won't cast. Area Mana Regen doesn't come with a base orderstring so how do I make it cast via a trigger?

all i can think of doing would be to give the unit a dummy ability then giving it an item and ordering it to use the item with the ability you would like it to use

I just searched throughout the action triggers
on WE

and didnt find anything thats useful for you.

That action just lets you interact with an item on the ground, not use it once in the inventory.

And 131ackout, I'm unsure what you mean, I'm sure theres a way to make a unit use an item as I've seen it done in other maps, I'm just unsure how.

then go to Hero - Use Item

Stick your ability on a random item and then use:

Actions
    Hero - Create YOUR_ITEM and give it to (DUMMY)
    Hero - Order (DUMMY) to use (YOUR_ITEM) on (UNIT)

Thanks! Does this allow you to use items on a unit with an invetory? Even if there not a hero?
