Passive Spell Help

Hey, thanks for helping.

I have made an ability based on Bash called Lightning Strike. I want it to create a lightning bolt effect on the enemy, and deal bonus damage.

Should I just leave the damage part to the spell?

Heres the trigger i have so far and its not working

Code:
Lightning Strike
    Events
        Unit - A unit Starts the effect of an ability
    Conditions
        (Ability being cast) Equal to Lightning Strike 
    Actions
        Special Effect - Create a special effect at (Target point of ability being cast) using Doodads\Cinematic\Lightningbolt\Lightningbolt.mdl
        Wait 0.20 seconds
        Special Effect - Destroy (Last created special effect)
        Unit - Cause (Casting unit) to damage (Triggering unit), dealing 20.00 damage of attack type Normal and damage type Normal

and I also dont know how to change the trigger to do different damages with different ranks of the spell.

We can't cast a passive ability nor detect when it is happened.

And the special effect and damage setting can be set at the spell data option.

Aka in Lightning Strike, there is such a thing called Buff... Add a buff like bash to the ability, and change the Art - Target to the lightning bolt.
