CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- A US Airways pilot’s gun accidentally discharged during a flight from Denver to Charlotte Saturday, according to a statement released by the airline.

The statement said the discharge happened on Flight 1536, which left Denver at approximately 6:45 a.m. and arrived in Charlotte at approximately 11:51 a.m.

I'm sure it scared the passengers. It's unfortunate that it happened but luckily wasn't a big deal. Due to what has known to happen, I think pilots should carry guns on board. I wonder how in the world it happened. Hopefully the pilot wasn't fooling around with it.

I'm not as sure if pilots should be allowed to carry guns onboard. For example, on 9/11 I don't think it would have helped, as I'm pretty sure there were several armed assailants, and I couldn't see the pilot and copilot alone shooting them up. Also, it could become a liability, as the pilot's room strikes me as an incredibly close quarters area, so if someone took a plane, they could wrestle the gun from the pilot, because the pilot would both have to wrestle away the gun and at the same time pilot the plane, which strikes me as somewhat hard, but I'm probably wrong as I haven't put a lot of thought into this (less then a minute) and haven't read any articles about this idea.

They have been for a long time. They carry guns using special ammo designed to shatter on impact so as to avoid damage to the fuselage.

It should be "on" 9/11 (September eleventh). Otherwise, I agree.

The pilot is only there to land, take off, and make sure nothing goes wrong. Autopilot takes the plane to the destination nowadays.

Oh, well like I said, I haven't put much thought or research into this, so I'm still ignorant when it comes to the question of whether or not we should arm our pilots.

Looks like Google fixed whatever mistake that made the recipes on the site go crazy and we are no longer trending towards a recipe site lol - I don't care though because it motivated me to spend alot of time on the site improving it and at least now the content people are looking at is not stupid and embarrassing like it was when I first got back into this like 5 years ago.

Plus - I have a pretty bad ass recipe collection now! That section of the site is 10 thousand times better than it was before

We now have a web designer at my job. A legit talented professional! I am going to get him to redesign the site theme. It is time.

I got one more day of community service and then I'm free from this nonsense! I polished a cop car today for a funeral or something I guess

They also were digging threw old shit at the sheriff's office and I tried to get them to give me the old electronic stuff, but they said no. They can't give it to people because they might use it to impersonate a cop or break into their network or some shit? idk but it was a shame to see them take a whole bunch of radios and shit to get shredded and landfilled

How come you're so into recipes lately? Never saw this much interest in this topic in the old days of TH.net
  • Monovertex Monovertex:
Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I am not big on the recipes I am just promoting them - I use the site as a practice place promoting stuff

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.
  • The Helper The Helper:
You can get there if you click the bell icon (alerts) and choose preferences from the bottom, signature will be in the menu on the left there https://www.thehelper.net/account/preferences
