I think I will format soon although while the format is in process im not sure how to make it not format those files I want... formating sucks, you gotta find everything you wanna keep... and put it on a disk or in another file and yeah so much work, I got like over 70 things on this comp I use daily lol beleive it or not.

who gave you the CPU for free?

This might be a good thread in terms of giving map-makers an idea of how "heavy" to make their maps.....

My Computer:
Intel P4 540 3.2Ghz "E"
Gigabyte GA-8I915PP Motherbaord (Socket 775)
512MB PC3200 DDR400Mhz RAM
On-board PCI Gigabit Ethernet controller
On-board C-Media 7.1 sound card
Leadtek Geforce 6600GT Extreme Edition 128MB DDR3
WD 160GB 7200 RPM SATA Drive
WD 200GB 7200 RPM SATA Drive
16x LG Dual-Layer DVD+-R/W Drive
16x LG DVD-ROM Drive

Microsoft Wireless keyboard and mouse
600W Power Supply

Beautiful Black and Silver style case with the following on the front:

2 x USB ports
1 x IEEE1394 port

Usual stuff in the back, plus things I'm not quite sure about yet.

Well first of all I won't "compete", submitting my specs or not :). Second of all, my computer is (if ever so slightly) out of date--I'm going to get a new one in a few years or so with the dual processors.

Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.0 GHz
1.25 GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce FX 5200

And, heh, I don't know the stats of all of my other equipment :D

I have 2 LCDs, but I forget what model--they're both different. One's newer and cooler, the other's kind of a chubby LCD. Both are Dell.

I have a DVD-RW player besides my CD player.

I have a Wireless Adapter to our relatively high speed connection modem. I need to get it cabled....

My computer is a standard Dell and I'm proud of it :D

For starters, this is not a competition, but simply a way of finding out what everyone has.

Darg, the CPU was free from Intel. I won it at a conference about a year ago.

I wouldn't say your computer is out of date Rinpun, perhaps the video card alone is. But that would probably be the only thing you need to upgrade to get a good performance improvement.

And "a few years" is a long time in computing terms...

I vowed not to spend money on my PC until my games lagged

Prior to this new comp, I hadn't been able to play a newly released game for about a year....

...and I couldn't play a large number of the later released war3 maps either, because they were so detailed that they needed much better comps in order to get a smooth playing experience. But this particular thing I didn't mind though, I like the idea of maps becoming increasingly detailed, even if it means people like myself can't play them. It's more important to satisfy the community rather than a bunch of lone individuals.
