Slow Cooker Cracker Barrel Fried Apples
This Slow Cooker Cracker Barrel Fried Apples recipe creates a cozy and comfortable treat.
Ingredients:
- 6 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Small mixing bowl
- Slow cooker
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges
- Place sliced apples in the slow cooker
- In the small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves
- Sprinkle this mixture over the apples in the slow cooker
- Pour the melted butter and vanilla extract over the apples and sugar mixture
- Gently stir to coat the apples evenly with the sugars and spices
- Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, or until the apples are tender but not mushy
- Stir gently halfway through the cooking time to ensure the apples cook evenly
