Strange WE Error, Very Bad Problem

I was saving my map yesterday when I got this error:

wehelpererror.jpg

Luckily I took a print screen because it didnt look familiar. It says something about a dll named 'internal'. Though nothing crashed at that point. I restarted the editor, reopened my map, and then went to test the map, but it only went to the main menu. This happened a few times, so I decided to reinstall warcraft & expansion. Now however when I go to open one of my maps, I get this:

Crash.jpg

This is not the result of map protection or intentional removal of certain files that makes WE crash, so please don't post so saying it is. I have several backups but none work. Note some other maps work fine, but there are quite a few (the important ones:) ) that do not. It says something about a custom object field and the only possible solution I could come up with is this:

Someone once posted a text file that you could put in the warcraft directory that shows all the extra material in the WE so you dont have to type out the paths. I no longer have this file. If anyone can find it, please post it.

Though I highly doubt that this is the reason, just the only thing I could think of. I reinstalled twice by the way, still no luck. Does anyone know what's going on?

Thanks for reading, +rep to anyone who responds. :)

Test it in some of your friends world editors...too see exactly where is the problem...i think it's because of the code that help you "protect" your map...that code that didn't allow you to save....and is this Windows Vista or it's just a skin(i've never installed it)...it could be from it too...some applications are not running very well in vista...about the file...i can think of only for miscdata....

check here MiscData ...this is from that post

Wow man that's is one hell huge map to lose :|

Did you try updating warcraft (and thereby updating world editor) after you reinstalled?

>>Test it in some of your friends world editors

Yeah I forgot to say I'd like to e-mail the map to someone so they can check if it works for them, instead of a friend. So please post saying so if youd be willing to open it for me, though I doubt you will be since I think...

...this is the problem, at least I hope it is. If someone can successfully open it they can use any of the scripts or spells, since a lot of them are useful.

>>i think it's because of the code that help you "protect" your map
Nope I have about 4 unprotected versions none of them work.

===EDIT===

>>check here MiscData ...this is from that post

Nope not that one, I remember it being unarchived in just a txt format. But thanks for effort though, appreciate it.

Just a skin. no way related to the problem.

Well thanks anyway for trying to help. :)

I don't think I did... Well either way I'm not going to get my hopes up, but Ill try it anyway. +rep for suggestion. Thankfully though, I have a .j file from a version about a week ago, and I have a few of the latest scripts laying in JassCraft (love how it autosaves the last thing you were working on) so not all will be lost.

Judging from the error: It's very likely that it's because of that file. The error is mentioning an 'unknown object field'.

Wow you guys respond really fast. :) I have to reinstall tft again it should take about 5 minutes. So I haven't checked yet if its due to a patch.

Exactly my thoughts, but Im trying to find the txt, but not having any luck. Im guessing it was in a thread about hidden object data in WE, but I don't remember at all.

Thanks Naminator for volunteering, Ill send it to you if the updates don't work and I cant find the txt.

Ah thank god, it works now. :)

Luckily I had a few WE text files on my jump drive, so I just put all of them in the directory. Also I hadn't updated warcraft, so thanks Lanboy.

Thanks to all.

wait, could it have been that you needed more RAM (read only memory) or physical memory? Huge maps take huge memory.

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
