Super Mario project-Ideas!

If you want to make a Mario game why make it in an editor that is for a strategy game when you could make it in this program:
Game Maker
You can load sprites, sounds, and backgrounds easier than in WE and you can easily script. It's so easy it's funny. I had no idea how to make a game, and in an hour, I made one that was releasable (it is in the General Discussion forums). Seriously you would make a better game in less time.

it's because he wants to make a game with better graphics and cooler than with shity game maker, I tried it and you can't make anything great or 3d, the 3d you can do with it is bullshit and it's more of a challenge to make a mario game in warcraft 3 than to make just another mario game. theres TOO MANY mario games that look the same made by ppl with programs like flash or game maker and they all SUCK!!!

Well I'm sorry you feel that way, obviously you know complex coding languages and can make programs from scratch. I can't so I learn about programming with learning tools like game maker. I'm so sorry I'm not as good as you.

P.S. There is no 3d in game maker and I know it. So? Super Mario Bros was 2d.

I think the Wc3 fan boys (hey im one too!) are after you mr. sick stick figure. Oh well. Hey I found Mario custom models on Wcsear.ch just search for mario or luigi or yoshi.... check it out.

I experimented with the game maker engine and It was fun at first but then I got bored cause I think 2d games are kinda limited and making a mario clone in 2d is kinda dull for me...

It would be infinitely easier to make a 2D (or even a 3D) Mario clone on Game Maker than it would on the WC3 engine. Lets see you have variable jumping and smooth arrow key movement with accurate collision detection on an engine that wasn't designed to support any of these features....

In THIS thread, we're trying to help him with his Warcraft 3 Mario game, not his Online mario imitation. So if you have any help to offer with a WC3 map, post it, if not, don't post

Well I found a "boo" model off wc3sear.ch but it's the boo buddies and not the big boo and they look a bit "nice and cute" not mean enough.

yes actually...ive had a lot goin on the past 2 weeks so i wasnt able to get any work done on it and i started my archery tactics project again. I see a lot of people are interested in it so im gonna speak with my mapping crew and get a beta out there soon, srry for the wait :banghead:

Hey I started the Legend of Zelda Project and its going great, I wish you the same for your project, zylak! NES WC3 ports ftw! I highly suggest starting a message board for your project if you want to make it serious. It helps organize things and keep everything in a forward motion. I Look forward to your work I hope it turns out great! I will let you know when my project will be complete ( Not for a few months yet, but it will be worth it)
