Trigger that allows to give an item to a unit, and extend the max lvl of a hero

I need help placing an item upon a unit, I know how to do that as in "starting items" But supposing if something happens (unit kills another unit) I want the unit, that kills the second unit to gain an item.

And How to increase the maximum level a hero can get.

I'm not too sure what you want for the first but for the second go into Advanced-Constain or something and scroll down until you see the max level hero.

EDIT:

Not too sure if this will remove the item from the killed units inventory

    Conditions
        ((Triggering unit) has an item of type Tome of Experience) Equal to True
    Actions
        Hero - Give (Item carried by (Triggering unit) of type Tome of Experience) to (Killing unit)
