Trouble with Ancients.

I am making a tech wars type map, and one of the races uses ancients who uproot and run off to fight once constructed. The problem is that while they are uprooted they do not have access to unit abilities (aside from auras) and their armor type is changed to heavy.

I would like to be able to change the armor types of the Ancients and give them autocast spells while they are uprooted, how would I go about doing this?

Its in the Object Editor's abilities, Under Nght Elf, Root (Ancient). Try adding abilties to them when they're uprooted.

Like unit uses ability, check if the ability is that ability, then add the ability. Then when its used again, remove ability.

hm, thank you, I will try this out and see what happens. Will this allow me to manipulate armor type as well?

Also, I wasn't expecting such a quick reply, you rock.

EDIT: This allowed me to manipulate armor type. To give them abilities I will have to use triggers, correct?

I guess so, since its not transforming into another unit.
