Unit - not an item! - spans from cage, how to?

Hi all,

I would like to make a trap in my map, a booby trap to be specefic. there are some cages who drop items, now I'd like to make an hostile unit spawn from it. How can I create this? Is there anyone who can help me with this problem?

Place a region at the cage, and make a trigger that checks for when that cage is destroyed. When it is, have a unit spawn at that region.

How would one modify this so that the created/spawned becomes an addition to the player's force? Like they were "rescued" from captivity?

Hmmm, the destructible dies event returns no killing units.
What you could do is just give the unit to the owner of the nearest unit.
But that can be the source of "Stealing" units. So you can just not put a cage, but a permanent net buff on them, and whenever a unit owned by a player comes close, remove the net and give the unit to the player.
