SOLVED: FurMark Destroyed my GPU in the stress test, buying GTS 250 ^^
Here is what happened to me so far:
Computer started freezing in win 7. I couldn't take it anymore so i came back to XP ( a week ago)
Everything worked fine up until yesterday around 2.
Then, all of a sudden my screen would go black and wierd textures would pop up. To me it looks like either my memory or GPU is giving away, but i don't know what it is. I have a screenshot for referance from The Sims actually (it happens in any games).
What really bothers me is that everything worked perfectly fine up until yesterday, and the worst thing is, i played Sims for about 2 hours yesterday without problems, exited the game, break for about an hour and a half, i go into the game POP here it is, dying or whatnot. Here is the screenshot of just one of the examples (as i said it happens in ANY game, i tried to playing Railroads! afterwards and it gave the exact same result.
Edit: More info
Just ran memtest after 50 minutes (1+1/2 passes) 0 errors.
As i already said it worked fine for the past week, and even yesterday evening after i cleaned my graphics card (again...), but as you see it started happening again. I was monitoring the GPU Temp and it didn't go over 73 this time, although the last time Max was 80. I looked around the internet, this seems fairly normal for my GPU.
My configuration:
Motherboard Asus P5B
Processor Intel Core Duo E4500
Graphics Card Nvidia Gforce 8600GTS 320mb
Memory 1x1gb Kingston and 2x1gb Samsung DDR2 800mhz
Sound Card is on the Mobo
My PSU is 600w (served me quite well so far)
I fear it's my Graphics Card, maybe even the ram on it, but i'm not sure
