whats the best method?

sorry my explanation is going to be rushed, cos i have bwt 2 mins.

what method would u guyz recommend for the upgrading of towers for a team?

like an item/unit trained as a dummy unit and then leveling up the building?

or an ability on every hero to cast and upgrade??

okay i have more time now, so i can explain better.
im on a team right, and i want to upgrade the tower. the best looking way is to have it so i select the tower and upgrade it, but would it be easier to do it through that long method using training units, or should i make each hero have an ability and when the hero casts the ability on a building, it then upgrades?

open to all opinions/comments.

Upgrading it direct from the tower may be better... If you give an ability to hero that when he casts on tower, this ability will have cooldown, and if other teammate wants to upgrade it, may crash the trigger, once the upgrade has already begun.
It's better one upgrade button for a whole team instead of one less ability for the hero (unless you remove the ability with a trigger..)

no ur enlish is fine.

the upgrade of the tower is triggered and therefore instant. so that porblem isnt there, i know that it would look better if the upgrade or whatever was from the building itslf but i cant seem to find a way to allow an ability to be cast from the building without sharing control.

i dont want control shared.

any ideas?

my original idea, was when a unit is trained from the building, then it auto upgrades. but i had a problem that the price couldnt change and that the icon wouldnt. aswell as making it 4 teams takes alot of triggering.

soo any other solutions? anyone?

Well, I'm not in home so I can't help you as much as I want, but, if my mind's not playing a trick on me, I guess there's a trigger to Set Current Tech Reaserch Level or Something like that...
You should detect with unit starts an effect of an ability, and then set the upgrade level.
And then you remove the ability or just set cooldown equal to your desired time or yet, level up the ability.

yes but then i want the icon to change and the gold cost, that might look better with training a unit or buying an item of type tome or something.

an ability isnt as changable as i would hope it to be, so im still open to suggestions.

but this does not 'look' so great. cos i wanted it to show different gold costs.

um yea upgrade might work. il try that.

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
