Nah, I know how to choose the right opponent to pummel (he limps, has an eye-patch and doesn't know the square root of 9).

He will neutralize you first since you're defending with your wrong hand and he's defending with his good hand :)

Not necessarily, your hands shouldn't be that different when it comes to strength. I know both my right and left side of my body are the same in strength and I am somewhat ambidextrous being able to use my left hand almost as well as my right.

Also, in my eyes defending isn't that hard, all you do is hold up the shield and bam, you are safe. Even if you are pushed back a little bit because you held it with your 'weaker' arm, you are still alive. Where as if you were to strike someone with your 'weaker' arm they might still live.

Most people are more coordinated with their good hand, meaning it would be easier to defend with their good hand. However slashing a heavy sword around doesn't take much coordination, just strength.

Well in of A Song of Ice and Fire (fantasy novels that strive for realistic medieval combat, when magic isn't involved), one major character, a kickass swordsman gets his sword hand cut off. He then, simply put, sucks at being a swordsman when he tries to use his other hand. I'm pretty sure that it's easier to block with a shield than to manuever a sword, however, about the model: so what? Blizzard probably just decided it looks better.

Exactly the opposite. It doesn't take that much coordination to hold up a sheild, however you would need your best hand to do the sword action. And your best hand would be slightly stronger because you would know how to apply the force more directly.

You have to remember, those swords weren't exactly katanas... They didn't require much skill. If they had a good eye or good coordination they were an archer.

I did Google search and didn' t found nothing what could tell right and is for defending only and left hand is for weapon. To me it sounds odd that you need more accuracy for defending than aiming your sword. I got interested someone has any known answer for that ?

I think it requires more skill and strength to hold a shield than a sword because you're swinging and stabbing with your sword, as opposed to only moving your shield a little to block.

Have you ever seen or held a medieval sword?!?!?
THEY ARE HUNKS OF HEAVY POINTY METAL!
It's not like a samarai sword where you need precision and accuracy and skill, these things were just clonkers that you swung around.

Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
