Will having the most -rep get you banned? Or there is a strict rule based on that?

In the subject, I am talking about the negative reputation points.

Suppose there's this guy, replacing the alien face Mr. Guy (R.I.P. :(), Mr. Angry .

Mr. Angry  here has about -500 reps. Although, he's very active, and supportive, he still gets -1. I know he won't be banned because he didn't break any of the rules. So, Mr. Angry will keep getting -rep. Let's say he is like that.

Mr. Angry  now has way more -reps than SD_Ryoko, the legendary -rep admin. Will his reputation be disabled after that?

Mr. Angry has finally gone overboard. His rep is now sinking through the -reps that it came out positive, being awarded the highest rep in TheHelper.forum. Do you think the forum may experience stack overflow because of too many negative reps?

Well, there's some rep limit that if you reach it the forum automatically bans you, but I can't remember what is was. Plus, if you get even close to -50/100 on this forum, chances are you've been temp banned, or are about to be permanently banned.

So, there's no other way we normal users can reach -100 reps without the forums automatically banning us? Or, if we can request a super administrator to multiply our rep values by -1, will that work out normally?

Well, if I remember right, I think it was -5000 that automatically banned, but I'm not entirely sure.

Oh, no worries. I guess stack overflow was out of the question.

Then I would wonder if we reached the highest +rep and then add another one to it, it might be possible to accidentally ban that person.

Actually there's not. I'm not sure that vBulletin has such a feature. It DOES, however, have something called infractions. If you get enough of those, then you can set it up where the forum will automatically ban you. (We do not have it set up to do that)
In either case, though, the admins are watching you spam, so it doesn't really matter. :p

considering that you can disable rep, that wouldn't do anything anyways

also the person with the lowest rep is SD_Ryoko, an admin with -500

Actually there's not.

Huh, I remember some mod telling me that you could be automatically be banned at some rep value. I guess he lied to me.

SD_Ryoko has that much rep because he set it himself.

Anyone who gets to even -20 is likely to be either abusing the rep system (rep reset is a likely outcome from that), or be permanently banned for breaking rules, and being disrespectful towards the forum. Either way, that person won't be reaching -501. Ever.

This thread also seems to be a bit of a joke, so on that note, I'll close it.

Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
