Dear The Helper forums,
So, I'm back with another annoying issue that came on me out of nowhere.
I have a serious issue with my stationary computer (which im not using to write this btw) and it just started unprovokedly when i was browsing the internet (NO not porn/virus sites ;P).
All of the sudden the computer all but froze. I'm able to move the cursor around, but it takes around 1-2 minute to for example get up the "windows home" menu. I restarted the computer, and the problem was/is still there.
Here are some details of my setup before i continue:
Windows XP Professional SP3
Asus p5q pro mobo,
Corsair Powersupply,
ATI 4850hd graphics,
Intel core2duo e8400 (3ghz),
2gb RAM
----
MAJOR ADD: EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY NORMAL IN SAFE MODE
So, continuing on the issue, when i start my computer all seems fine and dandy. But when after I logon trouble shows it ugly face. It approximately 5minutes for EACH process i have on startup to start. I click ctrl+alt+delete and after around 1minute i get up the menu, then it takes another minute for the actual taskmanager to pop up.
The taskmanager tells me that the CPU is running at 100% load. I check the process tree (which takes like a minute to get to) and NO process in the list is even gulping a SINGLE percent!
Navigating around takes forever. The only thing that is as fast as usual is the taskbar pop up (I set the taskbar to auto-hide(Oh but sometimes even the taskbar takes forever to show, like its glued to the side or something)). The "load LED" on the chassi hardly blinks and I rarely hear the processor/HD work.
What the H3LL is wrong with my computer? :banghead:
I think i can repeat that this occured without ANY changes in software or hardware whatsoever! Mr. "Unexplainable Computer Problem" seems to like me a lot, because he KEEPS SHOWING UP!
Please help me, helpers!!
Yours faithfully
Grommo
UPDATE ADD: Now, after waiting about 40 minutes since logging on, the cpu usage has dropped to 50-60%. Navigation is slightly faster, but the process tree still doesnt show any gulping processes. And when i try to start an application (CCleaner for instance) it still takes lightyears (it hasn't popped up yet...).
