Working on a system to allow retraining for the player heroes in my ORPG.
Now the issue is I want to set a cost. What should it cost the player?
A quest item.
A certain amount of exp, maybe even a level or two.
A large amount of gold.
A chunk of another very special resource that will be hard to get.
I could make a quest for it, but if they player managed to gimp their char really badly, then that wont work well (God only knows how they would gimp their char, but I am sure someone will pull it off).
I could charge Exp, such as a whole level or two to be able to respec your abilities. But this may be a turn off for level 50 players.
Gold has been done... nothing special with that. But its reliable.
The special resource is what I am considering. It will be hard to obtain, but not brutally difficult like the quest should be.
