as soon as i figure out how to post larger files ill add them here, the screen shots are during the editor and theyre my first time making a large city, it wont be as good as your guys but i think theyre pretty good, anyway i gotta figure out how to add attachments because theyre to big... so wait a few minutes and ill post 'em

Save them as .jpg it reduces the file size by much that way its not such a big file and you can fit the standards for posting attachments.

I will critize you on one thing ;), top right, missing alot of detail unless its not done? Everything around the middle piece looks a bit empty :S...

top right aint done yet, but i was probably gonna put the fighters guild there, and if u go further that way u come to the gate, but in the middle what do u mean by empty?

Looks wonderful. Yes top right doesn't look done, but I love the plants around the fountain and the way it looks like one of those perfect little cities. I'm good at wilderness i just wish i could make cities and stuff.

thanks marks, this will be the starting city, in the game im gonna make it so u start out as a sorta "no-one peasent" when the game starts you select your race and then your alighnment (good, evil, nuetral) than u can roam the citys and wilderness, then theres gonna be a few guilds (theives, fighters, ragners (ranger as in forest gaurdian) wizards, holy (paladins and clerics)) and more guilds to come maybe

Sounds pretty cool Bartuc.

The terrain looks nice and neat, but maybe you could add a few benches around the fountain if you have space. In the screenshot it doesn't look like there's any room, but if you make it bigger, add benches.

Too much stuff is bad even if it looks good with the exception of a cinematic or a map for the only purpose of terrain. Too much stuff can make the game too crammed up & also adds in extra filesize.

Yep, as Demonfaze suggested, I would have to go with angled benches around the fountain. I suppose that's what Marksman meant by "empty" besides the fact that he might have mentioned that you don't have any citizens in the vicinity...yet (I assume you'll place some--you should).

well for the citizen part im gonna see if i can get a trigger/region so the citizens will walk around in random spots every 5 seconds or so, that way they dont seem lifeless, and about the benches they dont quite fit in i was trying to do that earlier when he said empty

how do i get more pictures on this thread by the way? this on takes up like 400(somthings) of space so i acnt fit anymore

Erm, why use triggers for that?

Give them Wander, it's an ability.

Personally, I like the screen shot! :D Looks like the center of a park, or something. But yeah, benches would work better for ya.

At first I didn't get what you were talking about! :D But Bart, take that advice. If you don't want your peasents and stuff wandering out of town, make a little strip of region along all the entrances, and do a trigger like this:

E: A unit enters <do an event for EACH region>
C: Entering unit is equal to <peasent, male, female, list them all>
A: Order (Entering unit) to Move to <a region in the center of town>)

That will keep all the town civillians in the town! :D Great idea, Rin! :D

Well, for citizens, I strongly suggest you use wander. And when they enter a border region (make regions around various parts of the town), use a trigger to order them to go to the center of town square or something--Wander ability will work after they finish walking normally.

Oops, Alexander replied before me :D

Conan will likely suggest this too, but it looks pretty good to use scaled down waterfalls to accentuate the fountain in the middle :D

You could even use bubbles like im doing on my waterfalls, lol :D

the other picture got destroyed somehow so now i only have these 2, this is probably the worst of the 2 because its only the entrance to the palace and not very detailed

Hmm, it's not bad...Maybe you could position a few guards, or something! :p Just to touch it up...

The left side looks like a trainning field (not the archers, behind them) because it's so barren...What's supposed to be there?

Archery range looks pretty neat. You can make the little "target" things have like 1000 hit points and regenerate like 100 a second (basically making them un-killable but targetable), and then make a trigger that orders each archer to attack the target aligned with it every (random) 10 to 50 seconds. It creates a nice effect to look at in-game.
