I dont know if this is real, it feels fake, the wings are pretty small comparatively. And i know many people have tried this before and failed. They need at least something specially new that they added to it.

I don't know about it being fake now. I went to the site, watched all the videos, did some research and I do not see anything fake. Usually if it were fake, I would know by now.

From the looks of him at the end I'd imagine you'd take one hell of a beating to get it. Now I really want to god damn do this... if I do it, can I get a news article too?

but this one is machine powered, he just controls the wings via wii remotes with bluetooth connected to his HTC phone

still wondering how this is powered though, is there a gas engine? electric + batteries? how?

Real or fake, it was one of the coolest videos I've ever seen. If it is fake, then their editor is certainly very talented. Can you imagine how awesome that would be if it worked? Man, flying like a bird? It would put the Gods to shame.

Its powered by Lithium Ion batteries - I don't know how long battery life is. It has 2 bad ass little lightweight motors.

He has a whole series of YouTube videos of his project and the motors are one of them. I watched them last night.

I think this is where he got the wing control software that allowed it to actually fly. It had built in patterns for the way the wings flex in like 3 different areas. He mentions that on the main site right before he posts about the success flight.

Gizmodo is reporting pretty detailed what CGI Experts at the film studios are saying about the video as it has gone viral.

Probably will get a confession pretty soon as this seems to be an elaborat fake, setting up seems to have taken months.

Dude has not responded at all that I know of. The only thing I heard is replied to several news orgs with a canned I am being swamped with emails thing and request denials for phone interviews.

The thing here is that this is really possible. I mean the video was fake but the idea is valid and within our capability to produce. I hope someone continues the work and makes my Hawk Man Wings!

Well that sounds like a bird to me, or are we talking about different animal kinds?

Read his blog! It would take longer timer and cost more to fake that, than actually doing it in my opinion. We have wing-suits and paragliders. THIS is like a combination of the two with a pair of light engines to help him get up, the rest is gliding as you can see. If he can steer the whole thing properly and maybe try it off some cliff (with a parachute backup) AND film that, I would be very amazed.
