Hello all,

i am new to programing with no knowledge. I am woundering what would be the best language to learn to start off.

All sugestions would be great

Python, it has English like syntax, and is fairly efficient.

If you want to just get the very basics of programming down, start with warcraft. Instant gratification, plus you can make some cool games.

If you want a widely used language, learn C++.

now that i think about it i have done some programing. I have used the warcraft editor.

I am looking for something simple to start so Python would be good?

Well, it really depends on what you want out of your programming language. To start of simple, python is not a bad idea.

There are two ways to approach this:
1. Start with a nice language, then learn other "important" but uglier languages. I suggest you start with Haskell if you're going down this path.
2. Start with an ugly language, then learn nicer ones. Start with C / C++.

I suggest you start with an ugly language. Since they usually don't abstract the nitty gritty stuff from you, you'll learn a lot more on how computers work. Besides, your programming career can only get better from that :D.
