According to NPR,

“In 2003, a survey of female veterans found that 30 percent said they were raped in the military. A 2004 study of veterans who were seeking help for post-traumatic stress disorder found that 71 percent of the women said they were sexually assaulted or raped while serving. And a 1995 study of female veterans of the Gulf and earlier wars, found that 90 percent had been sexually harassed.”

The BBC recently reported on The Lonely Soldier: The Private War of Women Serving in Iraq by Helen Benedict. This book examines the extreme difficulties female soldiers have in serving abroad. Benedict interviewed several women in the military to get a deeper understanding of the issue, and some of their stories were real eye openers.

Army specialist Chantelle Henneberry spoke of some of her experiences in Iraq,

“Everybody’s supposed to have a battle buddy in the army, and females are supposed to have one to go to the latrines with, or to the showers – that’s so you don’t get raped by one of the men on your own side. But because I was the only female there, I didn’t have a battle buddy. My battle buddy was my gun and my knife.”

Exactly. Give the army mandatory porn and plenty of tissues. Problem solved!

That is the stupidest response I've ever seen. I'm actually angry I just read that.

What do I expect? I expect trained military personel to act according to protocol. I expect that people who should be more concerned with fighting and surviving or protecting the country to be less concerned about when the last time they got off was.

I expect better. Obviously, better is too much these days.

I agree. These men are here to defend against our enemies, not 'attack' ourselves. Attack as in wasting their time and invalidating fellow soldiers.

Well, then maybe they need go to a self control and training school Just for that.

Hmm.. Let's see, in one hand we have a really expensive training program, in the other hand we could just kick the women out of the army. What action do you think a government would chose?

Btw, don't let you get fooled by the percentages here, even though the percentage of raped women are going down it does not mean that the actual amount is getting lower because the amount of women in the army is increasing.

One more thing, I can actually say with real certainty "told you so".
First you take mere boys and throw them into combat, this means that they are going to see things that alters there whole perception of reality and traumatizes them for life. Then you suddenly throw in some beautiful women as well, that equation just have to result in this at some point, not all the time but at some point.
I am not saying that it is right at all, but what the crud did you expect:thdown:

Uhh, no. A small percentage of people who go into combat have the post-combat disorder. Movies tell otherwise, but they're movies.

I damned well expect them to control themselves. Lots of guys control themselves just fine. What makes them different?

Oh yeah, that's real logical booting women out the army because some male soldiers can't keep their cock away. Maybe boot them out instead?

I would actually expect worse from an organization that encourages and often requires that an applicant be indifferent when it comes to murder.

Rape is a crime.
No matter where.

However, I do happen to find it a bit obvious what would happen. Not that these People don't have needs.
But, what would you do, if you knew that tomarrow would be your last day on earth? I know, it's not something to be proud of, but they will die in the end, so it doesn't matter if they commit a crime more or less (this is how I sorta imagine the mentality of men in that situation). Killing is also a crime. War isn't supposed to justify it, but sadly it does.

Good thing is that they do not hide problem and speak about it. I can not see any excusable reason for such action. These men (or boys) have huge risks everyday, one of them should be dying without hetero-sex. Women should make this clear in talk-shows like Oprha that it IS serious problem.
In utopian world I would upgrade women to infantry group leaders, instantly when something like rape happens it becomes hierarchy problem where macho leaders need to show that disobeying to commander orders or will is not tolerated and will be punished.
Then again in everyday life we have rapes too, complicated indeed.

"Rape techniques are trade secrets of the rapist – sexual intellectual property – and they deserve protection"

I TOTALLY agree with this. I think it is hugely inappropriate to allow "victims" of rape go to court.

Looks like Google fixed whatever mistake that made the recipes on the site go crazy and we are no longer trending towards a recipe site lol - I don't care though because it motivated me to spend alot of time on the site improving it and at least now the content people are looking at is not stupid and embarrassing like it was when I first got back into this like 5 years ago.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Plus - I have a pretty bad ass recipe collection now! That section of the site is 10 thousand times better than it was before

They also were digging threw old shit at the sheriff's office and I tried to get them to give me the old electronic stuff, but they said no. They can't give it to people because they might use it to impersonate a cop or break into their network or some shit? idk but it was a shame to see them take a whole bunch of radios and shit to get shredded and landfilled

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.
