Easy question about spell art...

Hi, I'm pretty new to the editor, and I'm trying to make a unit use a certain attack animation when they use a spell. The problem is, when I type "attack" into the animation names box, it'll use any of the three attack animations it has (it's the frost wolf by the way). If I try to type in "attack 1", it doesn't only use the first attack when it casts the spell. I've tried typing "attack 1", "attack1", "attack" and "1" in another line, but no success. If anyone knows how to do this, I'd REALLY appreciate the help. =)

Anything.

You can find out the animation's name by opening up to model selector, going to Frost Wolf, then going to the preview box on the main WE window. Make sure you have the right animation name. Maybe it's Attack First...?

Well, make sure anyways.

If yes, then I'm not sure what's wrong.

What do you mean "attack 1"? You mean the missle art? And for "Art - Animation Names" you just use "attack".

It says "Attack - 1 (0.666 s)", but I don't think I'm supposed to type that in. And it IS animation names, but instead of randomly using any of it's attack animations, I want it to only use the first one.

By "first attack", you mean like how a Blade Master has a stab, a slash, and a huge overhead jump strike (for Critical Strikes)? I don't think you can select which one it is.

Ahh darnit... So there's no way to make it only use one? If so, I'm gonna have to rethink this hero... =(

Actually, I think you do type in "Attack - 1" did you try it? Make sure you get the spaces correct. Also, I don't think you have to type in the time the animation takes, so just putting "Attack - 1" should do it.

I tried typing "attack - 1" but it ended up making it so it wouldn't have ANY animation when casting the spell =(

You can't specify it (the number you want) unless you trigger the unit to do the animation when it casts the spell (after a 0.00 seconds wait) with a custom script called SetUnitAnimationByIndex(unit, integer).

There are some threads about SetUnitAnimationByIndex Custom Script if you search.
