Ok, so my computer is really messed up. i turn it onn and it makes the normal noise then it turns into a long buzzing sound then goes back to the noise after. But here is the kicker, the monitor is blank. It acts the same as it does when the computer is turned off and the monitor is on. It has a blank screen and the light flashes on and off. I have checked all the cords and they are all plugged it. We even changed the monitor and it still did not work.

Help. :( This computer hass my my photoshop picture, warcraft maps, writings, etc...

Well when your computer makes a weird sound from its Hard Drive it usually means its crying for help or Yelling or whatever you want it to be called

Anyway did you do anything before you shut off your computer...

Many Ideas

  1. Video Card
  2. The Cord that you are using isn't sending a output
  3. You may have just put the output cord in the wrong slot

Which light? On the screen?

Depending on the BIOS manufacturer, a continuous long beep is either a video/memory problem or "it's dead Jim", aka. the mainboard.
The "easy" solution to pinpoint the cause is to remove every extension card you have inserted, unplug all drives and external cables, remove all but one RAM module. If you feel adventurous, you can remove the mainboard and clean/re-seat the CPU. This will hopefully eliminate any shorts on the mainboard too.

If you have one, get a different power supply to do the testing.

Try booting after each of the following steps and listen to BIOS beep codes / read the diagnostic messages once you have a picture:
  1. different beep? add video card. same beep? change RAM. Still same beep? mainboard/CPU is dead
  2. add video card, so you can see what happens. If it works, add RAM
  3. add the extension cards one by one
  4. add the non-HDD drives (hard disks last, they don't like repeated spin-up/spin-downs)
  5. add all HDD
If this gets it working again, some cable was dislocated.

Connect the disk(s) to another computer and copy the data.

Best bets to get a tech to run a diagnostics on the system....they willl be able to plug a pci card into the system to run these and it will lower down the amount of possibles causes

Well, My mothrboard was fried. Luckly I managed to get a hold of anotherr for free. along with a better power suply ;) But, i can't use my hard drive and a CD/DVD drive at the same time, kind of point less. :( So i got a new hard drive from eBay, yay eBay! And with it i can hook up tw0o cd drives. But it gets better, my video card allows me to hook up 2 monitors, guess what I'm doing. ;)

Thanks for the help it helped me get it all narrowed down and solve this probelm. :)
