Hello, I'm Zackj191. This is my first Tutorial/thread on this site. So please bear with me here.

So for this tutorial im going to show you how to make a simple river scene for wc3 in just 9 simple steps!!!

Here we go!

I)Map

A)Choose whatever map site you want, and what size, tile set, etc.
B)Be sure to set the the Initial Cliff level to Shallow Water!

1.jpg

II)Setting Land

A)Choose the raise tool in the Terrain Layer.
B)Raise the terrain so that the water doesn't show.

2.jpg

III)Making the basic river

A)Cover the map with land not water, remember to use the raise tool not the Apply Cliff tool!
B)Start using the lower tool to shape how you want your river.

3.jpg

IV)Making the surrounding area

A)Once you have finished making your river, use the raise tool once more.
B)Raise a area behind, around or not at all(if you want) and then cover it with the Rock tile.
C)This should create a mountain/hill looking terrain feature in the back round.

4.jpg

V)Placing Doodads

A)Place some simple doodads into the area, I have created a waterfall, some shrubs and rocks.
B)Place whatever doodads you want.

5.jpg

VI)More complex doodads

A)Make the doodads more complex and add more for good looking effect.
B)Tip: Place a rock, then put shrubs and cattails in or on it.

6.jpg

VII)Complex Terrain

A)Change the terrain around the river to look more realistic.
B)Change the river to dirt(my opinion) and add some grassy dirt around it.
C)This will create a shore style area.
D)Put dark grass back from the river, this is for trees/forest.

7.jpg

VIII)Weather/Sky

A)Go to Scenario-->Map Options-->Change the Global Weather
B)Go to Scenario-->Map Preferences-->Chane the Sky Display to your choice.

8.jpg

IX)Finishing Touches

A)Add trees to the darkgrass areas and fill the bases with sparse shrubs and flowers.
B)Add some river rushes, shrubs, or cattails to the mountain to not make it so plain.
C)Then your done!!

9.jpg

!EXTRA!

If you want it to be playable, and have your cliffs non-accessible then use line of sight blockers around the base so no units cant pass by and climb the cliffs!

Hope this helped!!!

Could you reduce the text size?
I know you've made it that big for readability, but it just hurts :p

Decent tutorial, though, there's been so many terrain-tutorials in the past,
that there's probably one on this exact subject.

You have a few typos in your tutorial, you may wish to proofread/use spellchecker on it
