hello,im new at the helper.
Im here to show you my project.
I have played many builder map but i bored of them because the goal is not build a town but to train troops and attack enemies.I decided to make my own builder map.
Description
you start as a small village to a great empire.You have to harvest food and water then build a marketplace where citizens can pay gold for food.If you don't get citizens to work in your buildings,there are useless.And the last thing is that you must pay your warriors and citizens that are workings for you.Hope you like it
Game Mode
-Conquest : the last empire standing win the game
-Againt the horde : Players are ally together and must survive againt a wave of orcs,trolls and ogres.
-Glory :the empire that build a wonder win the game

Press the PRT SCR button (above Insert, Home, PageUp, etc)
then go to paint, press CTRL and V.
Then save the image and upload it to imageshack or photobucket.

Then post the URl in IMG tags here.

Also, I remember when I was making a town builder map... was about a year ago

One thing you need to know. That's all fine and dandy, but what sells games, movies, books and the like is one word - Conflict. As nice as your idea is, the simple fact is you need conflict to make it interesting. I think you should expand on the idea, and make a multi-continental map where players can forge alliances, trade, etc. and evantually destroy each other through the use of military forces or economics. The sea buffer would give all the players ample time to build up, and theres various other ways to discourage early military expansion. It would basically play like civ. This is a simple suggestion, as it is your map, but you can always make these things more interesting.

Okay, I totally judged your post based on the first couple sentences, still - this holds true. You need the map to be more conflict oriented.
