you mean adding the tile to the tileset? well you see there is a red square on it, that means it cant be added, you will find it on the 3 lowest "tilesets" on the list. :D

Thats right, all you do is import the icons, save and restart the editor and use the icon on the hero, if that doesn't help, i don't understand your problem and im sorry if ii can't help you.

It is a model right? the big ! you can make a skill, base it off like the item skill that gives +1 armor or something and then make it give 0 armor. put that model on Art-Caster and have attachment point "overhead"(on Art-Caster attachment point 1), make the skill non hero and item, and...

You can change that in...Gameplay Constants i think :D

Isn't icons for heroes the same as normal icons?
