Ability hotkey question

Hello,

In my map I want to make a movement system with WASD buttons to achieve this I thaught about making abilities with the respective hotkeys however I want them to have spells too and not clump up the ability room. I tried removing the icon from a spell but the tooltip and a green square still shows up.
My question: Is it possible to make a hotkey of a spell work even though its not visible in the thingy you know what:p Thanks in advance.

As far as i know its impossible. You can only make a movement system with arrow keys.

I thaught about triggering with
Event -unit starts the effect of an ability
condition - ability being cast equal to move forward
action - Issue MyUnit to Move To (position of MyUnit offset towards 100 at facing of MyUnit degrees

or something but it won't be possible if I can't find a way to make abilities invisible:(

Yeah that can work, but what i meant is it's impossible if you still want to have normal skills.

Maybe if you base your movement button spells on channel, and don't turn on the visible checkbox under "data - options". However, I don't know if the ability will still respond to hotkeys. It's worth giving a try though.

You can change this now in User CP.

can't he just use a spellbook ? i'm not that good with them =)

hm...how about maiking it only by triggers.Just an idea but if there is a "player presses a button option"


AceHart, do you think that it is possible to make an invisible spell book containing the moovment spells?Or an item givving these spells?

Items don't respond to the hotkeys of the abilities they have...

There is: arrow keys (left, right, ...) and escape (skip a cinematic).
That's about it.
Any other key needs to be an ability hotkey. With an actually visible button!

Well Ace, is it possible to change the action of the arrow keys?(sry not to be searching myself but i am too tired to do anything moore then write a few sentences)

It is possible indeed to walk with wasd. But of course you need an extra program called Reinvent the Craft to make it work. Take a look at this video, and then at "More info". Go down and you will find some links, one is for the map and one for the program itself etc.

mm I've heard about RtC but I heard you need to download lots of progs and its only singleplayer and not playable on bnet and I wish to make a map for more then 1 player. So I guess I'll have to use the arrow keys.

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
