On the official SC2 Site they said the editor would be included in the later beta. (Possibly) Do we have anyone on thehelper who has a key? I'd be really interested in hearing about it

I don't think they have given any out yet. I also don't think SC2 has reached beta stage yet.

Some were given out at last year's Blizzcon. I do not think they can actually be used yet.

I'm pissed of by blizzard's beta policy. Why the hell is the beta US-exclusive AGAIN? European players are fucked, as always, though europe - especially germany - is known for having the largest market for RTS games world-wide.

@ Zwiebelchen

When does the StarCraft II beta test start?

We don't have an exact start date to share at this time, but note that when it does begin, we will be adding additional regions to the beta test in phases. North America, Australia, and New Zealand will be the first regions to begin beta testing, and other regions will follow afterward in phases. We will have more information to share about all of these phases in the future.

The reason for setting up the beta in regional phases is that it takes time to set up and configure our testing infrastructure in each area. Bringing up one region at a time makes the overall testing process for StarCraft II and Battle.net more efficient from a development perspective, making the test more effective, and allowing us to complete the game more quickly than if we attempted to start the beta test in all regions at the same time. We will share more information about the start dates for the beta in different regions at a later date.

Yes, it is confirmed that the editor will be in the beta (Q&A 51) but they said it might not be included from the start, meaning an even longer delay then its allready going to be.. :(

I don't think its exclusive to us. I think it will come to the US first, but I though they said other people would get it too, later. I could be wrong, though. And anyways, I though it takes them a massive amount of work to make it for other places, thus the delay, or else they probably would.

Blizzard originated in the U.S., that's why.

Are you kidding? Look up Uberplayers post; they already said countrys like Australia and New Zealand (Well known for their gaming culture ._.) will have it ealier than the europeans. What the fuck? It cant be more difficult to set it up on europe than in australia o_O'

Im just disappointed that europeans are still treated by software industry as third rate customers that get their release even after asia (Hi @ WoW).

Who cares? With the BNet Servers set up anyways (SC and WC3 are still running here) it can't be much of a trouble for a company like Blizzard to set up a european beta. I dont care about localized versions; you are going to talk english anyways on european servers.

If not: Why just let other countries' players sign up for the US beta? I cant see why this is a problem. I'm playing of US servers anyway on WC3.

Its also because different countries have different policies. Europe is not all English too. If they released an English version for Europe, not everyone would be able to play because it wouldn't support all languages in Europe. Also, there's probably no european version of StarCraft yet anyways.

Exclusive seems to imply they only get it -- As far as I understand you just said yourself that they still get it - just much later. I can understand being angered by that, though.

Have you ever played a WC3 match or SC Game on Northrend? Everyone talks english there, since english is the international language. What do you expect? You think russians understand french and stuff? A localized version does not work like a babelfish. There are no country-specific servers on wc3 and starcraft and it never was a problem.

Besides, Betas are always using english language. Everyone knows that. World of Warcraft european beta was english, too ... but was released MONTHS after the US beta release. I can understand this, however, since setting up all the servers and stuff was surely a giant amount of work - however; the BNET Servers in europe are already up, so this can't be an issue any more.

You really think they're using the same stuff that hosts WC3 and SC?

Or did you mean something else?

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
