I don't see why it couldn't go either way - seems almost as likely that it could be a combination of the protein and the hormones that's inducing earlier puberty in these kids. Still, this is just going off that article FC linked, which could easily be interpreted as one or the other. Seems pretty open to speculation, to me.

1. Force those people that enter puberty young to interbreed.
2. Get their babies to interbreed.
3. Resulting children, in a few generations, will be giving birth soon after being born.
