Can't figure it out

I don't understand how to import models
I looked at two tutorials and STILL fail to do it.
Perhaps I'm missing something?

Can anyone break-it-up into knowledge a n00b could understand

ok, i ll make an easy step by step turtorial for you:
1)Download a model. (i attach a model for you to test)
2)Open a warcraft map
3)open the import manager (shortkey is F12)
4)click 'import file' (shortkey is Ctrl+i)
5)for the test model ballista i attached doubleclick the file BallistaAnimated_E_1.mdx
6)open your object editor
7)select a unit and change the model to the imported model
8)Save your map
9) !Important! Close your warcraft III world editor
10)start the world editor again and open your map
11)now enjoy the model of a ballista in your game

also on some files you import you may need too change the file path for it too work
