DotA impale?

it doesnt require you to stay casting the ability nor makes the unit invulnerable, how to do that?

Creating a custom impale isn't as hard as it sounds. You just create a line of effects and pick enemy units in the area, stun them and set their flying height to make them go up and down.

Units are paused in the air. Stun and damage is dealt after they hit the ground.

dummy unit to cast impale at that position/target?

just base it off something that can target the ground or unit, eg. shockwave with no projectile and damage or sumthn..

lol my suggestion is do-able in gui, il give an example code later.

ok here it is:

Trigger:
  • events
    • unit begins casting an ability
    • conditions
    • (ability is ##) [your custom impale ability]
    • actions
    • unit - create dummy unit at (position of (casting unit))
    • unit - give (last created unit) ability: impale [default impale ability, just change the damage/length/remove mana cost]
    • unit - order (last created unit) to cast (impale) on (target of ability being cast)
    • unit - add ex*** timer of 2 seconds to (last created unit) [sorry i forgot the word]


everything in [] brackets are just comments and not part of the code.

note: you must remove the damage and animation from your custom ability.

*you may edit it as u wish so that it suits your hero*

lol ok its not dota perfect. who do u think i am? Icefrog? :/

well it'l work for what he wants to do, and even if u want it that way u could just make them go into the air, and change the ground below them, ag its not too hard. just takes reli long.. but it doesn't have to be exactly like dota's one. this one is stil instant and alot smoother than the default. so yeah u can use it if u want, if u dont wana itz kwl.

Erm, no. Your impale still makes the units invulnerable. This is what the TS wanted.

Only way to do it is to create an impale system, which was mentioned above.

apologies, ddnt read the first post properly lol.

or any of the others :/

haha ag yea just set there height, custom stuns and do some art.

soz, owel mine stil is an "instant-impale" which can be used to get rid of that casting animation. thats what i thot he meant when i saw the heading "DotA Impale?", cos in Dota they are instant lol.
