Dota is overrated

Who here thinks dota is overrated?!? I have nothing against the game itself, just how many people play it, and everything around that, like banlists, and none of the games allowing anyone to dl.

I saw that image on wc3sear.ch. The image is in such poor quality I suspect it was edited (and that 3 is a DotA game).

Go here - it's perhaps the only DotA-hating thread to not open up into a flamewar (it even has pseudo plans to overtake the DotA empire, and more).

edited? why in the heaven's name would someone do that when they can make a real screenshot?
anyway there's been a hundred of simular topics like this. someone starts it, one person says dota sucks, the other says its the best map etc.
eventually some idiot comes as a guest, flames either dota lovers or dota haters and then the topic gets closed.
 
I never said I hate it. I acually like it. It's just way overrated
 
At first, it seems that most TH members, along with me and my bnet friends (which totals out to a lot of people) all hate DotA. Almost anyone I know on bnet or here hates DotA. It's the random pubbie schmos who I've never seen before that love it.

I actually haven't seen any flamewars amongst DotA-hating threads in a while...let's keep it that way (I lent my neighbor my flame-resistant suit).
 
While it's true that a lot of people here dislike DotA, please do not start another "I hate DotA!!" thread as it will be closed by a mod/admin. We've had many of these before, all which come to the same ending.

I do not like it. I like the map, but I dont like the players.

same here...
some dota players are just kids that have no life and enjoy calling themselves "pros" for remembering what items to buy for one imba hero. and if someone takes that hero before them then the game is not fair and they leave with honor like real pros. :nuts:
 
i would have to admit that i have only played DotA once.
once i tell you.
not long either.
sadly...i believe that I am just a little bit stupider now.

    I have converted the Headline News forum to an Article type forum. It will now show the top 20 threads with more detail of each thread.

    I do not see a way to go past the 1st page of posts on the forum though

    It is OK though for the main page to open up on the forum in the view it was before. As long as the portal has its own URL so it can be viewed that way I do want to try it as a regular forum view for a while

    Yeah I'm not sure what the deal is with the pagination.

    It SHOULD be there so I think it might just be an artifact of having an older style.

    I switched it to a "Standard" article forum. This will show the thread list like normal, but the threads themselves will have the first post set up above the rest of the "comments"
