I have encountered a special problem with floating text.

This is what I did:

Floating Text - Create floating text that reads Weapon Shop at (Center of Weapon Shop <gen>) with Z offset 0.00, using font size 10.00, color (100.00%, 0.00%, 0.00%), and 0.00% transparency

Floating Text - Create floating text that reads Police HQ at (Center of Police HeadQuarters <gen>) with Z offset 0.00, using font size 10.00, color (100.00%, 0.00%, 0.00%), and 0.00% transparency

In the end, only the 1st floating text,which is "Weapon Shop" showed up in the game but not the second one.

Then, I changed the second trigger's floating text to white:

Floating Text - Create floating text that reads Police HQ at (Center of Police HeadQuarters <gen>) with Z offset 0.00, using font size 10.00, color (100.00%, 100.00%, 100.00%), and 0.00% transparency

It worked. But I want it to be red. How come only the 1st floating text can be red but not the second one?

Um. It's what color you set it to.

First Trigger:

Second Trigger:

Floating Text - Create floating text that reads Police HQ at (Center of Police HeadQuarters <gen>) with Z offset 0.00, using font size 10.00, color (100.00%, 100.00%, 100.00%), and 0.00% transparency

Copy your trigger which works. And then change the place and text where you want it to be. 'Police HQ' at the HQ, for example.
Then change the color: (100.00%, 0.00%, 0.00%) -that's from the first trigger. And it should show text in Red. Because it says 100% on Red and 0% on Blue and Green. (At least I THINK those are blue and green)

I tried what you mentioned and it still doesn't work.

Same thing: Only the first trigger worked.

Are you sure that your Regions work properly?
I don't know what else could be wrong..
Check your Regions, make sure they are where you want them to be.
Or, if your buildings (Police HQ, and the other) is pre-placed on the map:
Try this:

Code:
Floating Text - Create floating text that reads Police HeadQuarters above BuilderUnitRed with Z offset 0.00, using font size 10.00, color (100.00%, 0.00%, 0.00%), and 0.00% transparency

I used one of the Units on my map in that example. Make sure you select YOUR unit in Your map :p
Also check that the text is what you want it to be.
Hope that works.

Sorry, but I created the floating text at a region, not above a unit nor a building,structure,etc.

Create them on the same trigger, not diff ones? ie. Event: elapsed game time is 0.01 seconds
Action: create floating text at (center of(policeHQ)) with z offset 0.00 and colour yadda yadda yadda
then the same thing here except not at policehq and diff text...

Somehow stop them being made at the same time, that MIGHT screw it up.

Thank you.

I tried that after your suggestion but all the other 5 floating texts: Weapon Shop, Gambling Den, Market, Sauna and Exit showed up. But the Police HQ still refused to show up.

I even deleted that region and created one more new region and tried,but to no avail.

Is it that the WC3 cannot show the word 'police' in the game?

Try changing the names of a text which DOES work (Sauna for example?) to 'Police' and see if it shows or not.
If that is the case ( :confused: ), try finding another word for 'Police'.
'Law Enforcer', perhaps? :p

I doubt that that is the case, though.
I could try to do it myself. But I'm at work and doesn't have WE with me.
So you have to test different things yourself. -Hope you get it to work! :)


EDIT: 'Law Enforcement' not 'Law Enforcer', I dunno :p Use what you like best. Also, try changing colors of the words etc. See if that has something to do with anything.

Sorry, but the text still didn't work. It only work if it is white.BUT NOT RED!:(

maybe.

check the region maybe the region is to small to fit the text ( my guesse)

Well...Actually I thought of that long ago and extended my region so that it is bigger than those that works but to no avail.

and if that is the case, how come it only works for white colour?

as i said it was just a guesse heres a second guesse maybe the tile for the terrain is mixing with the color?

Why doesn't it work with Red? :confused:
If it's not TOO important to have the color Red, however, I sugest you use the White color.
Or try to mix it a little. So that it looks Red:ish (Purple:ish, or something).
I have no clue at all why Red wouldn't work, though.. Really weird.
At least the text works, right? :)
-Hope you find out how to get Red color, eventually.

the texts doesnt work when it is red. There is no word displayed, so i got to use white for those that cannot be displayed as red.

Thank you by the way for all your 4 replies.

i may have a solution!!! make your tint like this: 100% - 10% - 10% no???

Ok so but all to 100% so it's white and it works
Then just copypaste this to the text part:

|cffff0000Wohoo Red text and working!|r

And there you have it Red floating text!

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
