Footman's defend ability question

How can u make it reduces damage from all sorces? I tried to add a buff, havent worked , tried dummy unit havent work, any ideas?

in the defend abilty, there should be something that lets you edit what type of damage and how much to be reduced...

or you could use thorns aura, but instead of returning damage, it does nothing, that way it'll block the damage, but won't return anything....

In spell data there isn't what type of damage, I don't wanted to use thorns aura nor other spell because I wanted to keep my unit defending and keep it an active ability.Thanks.

(block 35% of incoming damage)

can you post what you have made so far...

Unit - Cause (Triggering unit) to damage (Triggering unit), dealing (((Damage taken) x 0.25) x -1.00) damage of attack type Normal and damage type Normal

There is no action for blocking damage like that. You could get more complex or.. I think the Crypt Lord's Spiked Carpace ability can reflect all types of damage.

I am suprised nobody thought of Hardened Skin it reduces damage to a minimum of #
Spiked carapace is also a good choice

If u have read all my posts , u dont have to , but it says I want defend ability art with shield and it has to be an active ability.Thanks anyway.

Modify defend so that it does nothing but slow the unit down, then have a trigger give the unit hardened skin whenever that unit activates defend, and remove hardened skin when it de-activates defend.

There is no action for blocking damage like that. You could get more complex or.. I think the Crypt Lord's Spiked Carpace ability can reflect all types of damage.

set the life of (attacked unit) to (life of attacked unit + damage taken)

not sure if damage taken is a line in triggers... i saw somewhere where you can trigger so you take 50 damage, and but your hp remains at whatever it was before you took the damage....

Looks like defend isnt working as a spell , tried to:
event:
Unit - A unit Starts the effect of an ability
condition
(Ability being cast) Equal to defend
action
Unit - Add Defend position to (Triggering unit)

also tried to ability being cast not equal to all others hero's abilitys and havent worked...
anyone have any idea how to add defend to trigger?

is the Defend in the action part of the trigger a spell that blocks 35% of damage...

it should work...
