Forced Colors, destroyed to not decay, units guarding

Hey guys, i have i hope a few simple questions that can be answered.

-How do i force player colors? I've been through Force Properties and i can force race, controller, start location etc, but i just can't seem to find a way to change player colors and force it.

-I've created a gate out of the farm and modified it all to work as a gate, but the problem is when the gate is destroyed, it eventually decays and that leaves a massive hole in the wall and it looks stupid. Is there a way to have when a building is destroyed, its remains will stay permanently?

-I'm building a defensive map and what i wanted was to place units around the map to stay and defend that area (the AI comp will control them). Now when i first did this i decided just to place units there to defend, but what they'd do is go and chase the enemy and wonder off real far leaving this place undefended.
Then i tried to just change the units to 0 movement speed through the Movement - Speed Base command, but this then made the units stand still and not turn around at all and looked real crap (Archers would be facing one direction but shooting in the other).

So then i tried having the units in a Hold Position Stance, which worked alright, but then if say a melee was getting attacked by a ranged, the melee would just stand there coping it. What i wanted was a way to have guards defend an area, chase any enemies attacking but then after a short distance (not keep attacking and chasing enemies half-way across the map), they'd run back to their exact location they were at. I've seen this done in RPG maps so i know its possible.

-And lastly, how do i make buildings produce income to whatever i want (gold/wood) periodically. Say if i built a farm, every 20 sec i would get 10gold, or 20 lumber for a Lumber Mill. And also how would i go about making it show how much income i got (same as when peasants return gold/wood, but to show it above the farm).

On each unit you can set team color in the object editor. Or in trigger editor you change the color too.

When your unit is destroyed, try setting the animation speed to 0.

Don't neutral hostiles work like that by default?


Periodic trigger, you check each player has how many farms, and add their number x 20 gold/lumber to the stockpile.
And then use floating text to show the number at the unit (go with pick all units of type).

You could set up a Region and force units to return to the center when they travel outside said region? Do they respawn if they are killed?
