Second, here goes the question:

As far as I understand, triggers are only used in JASS scripts to handle events. Is this correct?

Triggers are a part of both GUI, and JASS, GUI just being a bastardized version of JASS.

And yes, triggers handle events and do actions accordingly.

So you don't really *NEED* to use triggers for anything else than events if you base your map on JASS?

Events are what make the actions work, depedent sometimes on Conditions. And you would do the entire trigger, events, conditions, actions in Jass
