>Change that GTX 460. It's the superclocked edition. This is the original 460.

Considering this is the high end list I think superclocked is a very good thing.

SC2 trial deal won't be around much longer.

>Maybe some information about Firewire, SATA, and USB 3.0?

Uneeded imo.

>Add that nvidia supports 3D (however additional parts are required.)

Will do.

Just a couple tweaks.

"SATA III" is not a serial ATA specification. The correct name for it is "SATA 6Gbps"

32-bit systems can support more than 4GB of RAM through Physical Address Extension (PAE). However, individual processes on 32-bit systems will always by limited to 2GB of address space (windows) or 4GB of address space (linux), or 4GB (windows) if they are large-address-aware.
Also, most home versions of windows do not support more than 4GB of RAM in 32-bit mode even if PAE is enabled.

The Intel X25-M/V G2 SSDs (linked in the first post) all support TRIM, as of late October 2009, with a revised firmware posted a few months later.

Thanks for the info. Updated accordingly.

Also removed the socket 771 since it is only for Intel Xeon (server processors).

Ok thanks. I would recommend putting both links (the non-superclocked edition barely fit my budget so it's good for budget builders) for both graphics card versions. Plus you could just overclock to get the superclocked edition's speed. It's 20$ cheaper. More like 20$ non wasted money with overclocking.

BTW, the trial promo lasts until 12/31

Free Starcraft2 trial coupon w/ purchase, ends 12/31

I added it. The problem is if you overclock it you lose the warranty.

950 is the most popular option for builds now...

Removed Intel Core i7 Extreme 965, also changed the discontinued Phenom II X4 810 to the 925. Also changed the Core i7 950 to 960.

I would keep the i7 950 in there, right now it is the most popular option for high performance builds. (since it is about $300)

Due to price drops that's fair enough, I've also added the 875K because it's unlocked.

And I also added the Phenom II X4 970.

Removed the Core i7-930, it no longer exists. Also the GTX 580 should be coming out soon.

ArchLinux is more for people who have too much time on their hands, Fedora and friends are premade linux distributions for those who don't have time.

Hardly. A few [ljass]pacman -s[/ljass] calls and one GNOME later, and you've got a much better version of Ubuntu. Fedora and Ubuntu are hardly linux.

I've added Arch as I like it personally too, but Fedora is still a major distribution that should be considered.

The new Intel Core i7-2600K and i5-2500K are amazing. Especially the former, which seems to top the i7-980X Extreme Edition in performance, at about a third of the price.

Needs an update.
Add the new nVIDIA GTX 560 Ti. It costs 250$ and is the new GTX 460 on the market.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
