How to decrease/increase sight radius?

How to decrease/increase sight radius through a skill or even a buff?
I'm trying to make a skill where in the target who gets hit will loose sight of his enemies and allies... or just decrease the sight radius to 100 for a while.
 
You could try adding the "goblin night scope" ability (dunno what its called) with negative data.

How can I place negative data?
Where can I find where to put it in?
 
The ability is called "Item Sight Range Bonus".
"Data - Sight range bonus" says how much "bonus" you get.
Shift + Double-Click to put a negative value in.

However, that ability isn't castable, and it doesn't have a duration.
You're going to need some dummy ability for the casting,
add it to the target unit and remove it some time later.

Will it work?
I don't know.

That's weird... There's a duration in the Stats section... there's a casting time... well... there's a whole lot of stuff.
 
All abilities have that.
As an example, every ability has "Stats - Buffs", however, if the ability didn't have one to begin with,
adding one later won't make it use it.

=/ Hmmm... that doesn't work well then...
How about those "Visibility" stuff in the Trigger Editor?
Could I use them?
 
No, they apply to regions on the map, not individual units.


Event:
- A unit starts the effect of an ability
Conditions:
- (Ability being cast) equal to Optical Flare
Actions:
- Unit - Add ability "Goblin Night Scope (new)" to (Target unit of ability being cast)
- Wait 10.00 game-time seconds
- Unit - Remove ability "Goblin Night Scope (new)" from (Target unit of ability being cast)

That, supposedly, would do it...

But if I were to use the Visibility trigger...
I saw a Visibility thingy with a circle?
And it did have that thing about Visible from the Targeted caracther in a radius... uhh... something like that...

    It is OK though for the main page to open up on the forum in the view it was before. As long as the portal has its own URL so it can be viewed that way I do want to try it as a regular forum view for a while
