Tutorial how to play warcraft(and other maps)in a window

This is not a good way to "play" the game.It's perfect for peepole with powerfull computers who might be runing multiple programs at once.Also good for host/clan chiefs(like me) becouse they might be runing chat bots or autorefreshers that might or might not slow down there comp.But either way you can control,operate or close it alot easier and without causing massive lag if you minimize it like in full screen mode.:thup:




Im sure that there are some threads/tutorials on this site that explains how to do so,but when i wanted to know I couldnt find any.soooo im making one for good mesure.well its a short tutorial but sometimes some idoits get lost sooooo,ill add pictures.
first: you go to your warcraft 3 or your warcraft 3 tft icon.

right click on it and go to the botom of the list and select properties.

This should pop up:

see the highlited area?It says

"C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Frozen Throne.exe"

now put out side of the quotes("")"(space)-window" were it says (space) you put a space there, if your confused. so it should say:

"C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Frozen Throne.exe" -window

as a edited side note brougth to my attention my a reply....for windows vista -windowed works exactly the same!=]

now while were here as a added tip to you Ill show you how to add a shortcut for the game.
were it says shortcut key: beside it,it should say none...well if ya want to add a shortcut click the box and type the desired letter.its should now say ctrl+alt+(letter).
click ok.Now if u press ctrl+alt+(letter) wc3 shoudl pop up in a window like this.

and you're...DONE!

Its gonna be pretty hard to play like that..

I mean you have to be exact with your mouse gesture just to move the screen.

well thank you for teh rep.Its not to play tho its mainly for peeps who have powerful computers and run multiple programs at once.it doesnt slow your comp.as much and u can minimize without cousing your comp to have a 1/2 a sec freeze when u do press teh windows button.also good for clan chiefs liek me who mite run bots or autorefreshes....dang ima add this to the tutorial lol hang on!:thup:

oh lol ya i would did one for macintosh/imac and other OS's if i thot it was needed...thanx for rep...and i thot if u saw how to do it on a window u could figureout how to do it on other OS's

and how do u add rep?is that on ur first reply to post when u rate it?if nit how?.im new to this place started thursaday(yesterday) at ike 2:45 lol

If you were to make a tutorial for macs on how to play a window, you'd only have to type in it Apple + M. Its kind of funny that Windows Users have to go through all this and Mac Users onky have to do a simple hotkey.

For NVIDIA Cards you can add -opengl, since for some cards it makes it better.

Example:

"C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Frozen Throne.exe" -window -opengl
