Heyas,

Im working on a basic invetory system, that via next/previous page extends the item to a 10 slot inventory.
Currently everything works fine, theres just a minor hindrance.

If a guy changes items around, say swap item slot 1&4 with each other, thus far to my knowledge I cant detect it.
So when you go to next page and back, the items will revert to their original order.

So if their a method detecing it?
thx

Doesn't "can be dropped: false" keep them in place?

If not, there is an order involved in moving them around:

Events
- Unit - A unit Is issued an order targeting an object
- Unit - A unit Is issued an order targeting a point
- Unit - A unit Is issued an order with no target
Conditions
Actions
Custom script: call BJDebugMsg(I2S(GetIssuedOrderId()))

Hey fulla, I would set variables ( ItemSlotOnePlayers [ Array *PlayerCount ] ) for example and then check if item of the hero in slot x equal to the variable. If not, check in which slot the item now is, then you know how he changed item order in his inventory! Hope this helped!

btw, can you invite me into your clan? :)

For anyone interested :)

The event is A unit Is issued an order targeting an object and the order ID is:
852002 for an item being placed in the 1st slot,
852003 for an item being placed in the 2nd slot,
852004 ... 3rd slot,
852005 ... 4th slot,
852006 ... 5th slot,
852007 ... 6th slot.

So it is detectable which slot is the item placed into. In case of swapping two items, the order ID only tells the second slot being clicked (e.g. where does the item that was clicked first ends after the swap).

But anyway, you always know which unit's inventory is the swap being performed in - the Triggering unit.

isnt there an Event which simply says 'manipulates object'? a simple 'starts the effect of spell' will detect spells cast even via items, and theres seperate events for Get and Drop items... so Manipulate Object im pretty sure will make it detect when the object is moved around or messed with at all... might actually have to make sure its not being cast or anythin like that...

Not really, no.
And definitely not when moving items around in your inventory.
(Other than what is mentioned in post #6...)

Actually, the plan would be to combine items by dropping one on the other.
Which calls for knowing both the item that is moved and the slot it's dropped to.
Though that wasn't exactly what the original poster had in mind... several months ago...

Can be done - at the time that the order is issued, the items are still in place. So it's just a question of remembering the items in the inventory, waiting 0.1s and then checking the inventory against the remembered one.

But that's just for a future reference, if anyone would be interested :)

Or what I did in my item sys was when the "go to the next page" button is clicked, remember the current position of the items ^^

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
