Item drop system

Do you know any system for droping items from creeps when you use respawn system? Post your ideas or links (im going sleep now, i will check in few hours)

    • Events
      • Unit - A unit Dies
    • Conditions
      • (Unit-type of (Dying unit)) Equal to Footman
    • Actions
      • Set TempPoint = (Position of (Dying unit))
      • Item - Create Tome of Experience at TempPoint
      • Custom script: call RemoveLocation( udg_TempPoint )


Can't you simply do that? (But then you would have to do that for every creep type).

Can't you just double click the creep you set down and click on the item tab and change it?

thats the point. i thought about some loot table and formula based on creep level, i jut cant come up with correct formulas and etc. i want loot to be random where better creeps have chance to drop better items. i have creeps from level 1 to 200...

use item levels and modulo to make the correct chances

create a random number(can be based on your Hero's level) and if it hits the correct value, then create an integer that will be (creeplevel / 20) but a minimum of 1, this will be the level of the item it will drop, you can use a random number here too, lets say: creeplevel / (15 + randomint(from 3 to 8))

here's an example:

creeplevel is 135, you hit the correct chances on dropping an item
the randomint will be 5

the level of the dropped item will be: 135/ (15 + 5) = 6

oh yea i tried smillar thing but thats still a lot of work :) i was looking for some system, which will set most things for me ^^, but i see it wont happen :)

this is what i use, so you can basicly have a entire table but it takes a bit of work if you want lots of drops.


Put in multiple of the same type to give a higher chance of that item to drop
You can add in 'item - create 1 of X on position of dying unit" in there too if you want something to always drop.
