Keep invisible unit from revealing itself

So I've posted a couple topics on trying to keep units complete invisible but still able to cast spells and it doesn't seem like there's a way to do it easily.

It looks like I'll have to catch when the unit cast a spell, stop him, play his cast animation, and make a dummy unit cast the spell.

However in my triggers, I've tried using the events: units begins casting an ability, starts the effect of an ability, and is issued an order; and then I issue a stop command. This doesn't stop the unit from casting though.

It seems like such a simple ability (actual permanent invisibility).
Anyone know why my trigger doesn't work, or a better approach?

You did mentioned that you want the unit to stay invisible when casting and can reveal when attacking. This seems impossible.

Using 'Ghost' would be the best bet but it will not reveal the unit when it casts or attacks.

Using this may not be a good solution. But it's up to you though. A unit begins casting an ability will trigger before mana and cooldown are taken into action. A unit starts the effect, finishes, etc etc will take place after the spell is actually casted. You may need to use dummy abilities that do nothing and trigger a dummy to cast the 'actual' spell. Don't use 'actual' ability on the hero.

You also mention that ghost will work, but it doesn't.

I give my unit ghost with a trigger, and he turns instantly invisible.

If I start to cast a spell, he becomes visible.
He stays visible until I give him the ghost ability again.

One time I tested the map, he would reveal while casting, and then go back invisible afterwards, but I don't know what changed since then.

In both cases, however, he is revealed.

Is there ANYTHING that would cause this to happen differently from what everyone else says happens?
I will try a default unit with ghost, and cast one of it's abilities and see what happens.

Edit: Both a default Paladin and Priest can cast spells while invisible with the Ghost ability.
However: My hero still becomes visible. Perhaps the Channel ability cancels ghost for some reason?

CONFIRMED: Casting spells based off of channel removes the ghost affect.

Doesn't work. Must be some of Blizzard's hidden code like hard-coded effects on some spells.

Maybe this is some patch 1.22 shit, because I have used ghost ability with channel ability and I had worked fine.

That would be super lame. Casting acid bomb works fine with ghost, and Channel has the Base order ID as acid bomb. I also change the actual order ID. Neither worked.

Hahaha... why did noone mention this before....

"Disable other abilities" was set to true. I never looked at this. I thought it just made it so you couldn't do anything else while casting the spell. Didn't know it would break passive ones.

Sigh.... fixed now....
