Local Variable

How can i set a special effect to a local variable.
I know i need to follow the syntax:
local local_type local_name = value

But what would be the local type for a special effect?

The variable type for a special effect is simply 'effect'.

    local effect e = AddSpecialEffect("path\\effect.mdl, 0., 0.)
