make a unit to a hero

I'm just totally blind, I can't find where you make a unit so that it is a hero.

I have the exact opposite problem: how do you remove the hero-ness from a unit? Experience levels and stats and stuff.

To make unit into hero, you cant do that. All you can do is to change the model of the unit to a hero.

Vice versa for hero to unit.

i dont believe you can't do that through triggers, only the object editor

To create a custom Hero you simply have to go to Object Manager, select New Custom Unit, name it, select a Hero-type unit from the list and you have yourself a Hero unit. Now, in order to change it's looks, you have to find the line: Art - Model File and change the model to something you like. Don't forget to change the lines Art - Icon - Game Interface and Art - Icon - Score Screen to fit your selected model.

Now, to make a Hero into a normal unit all you have to do is to select New Custom Unit, name it, select a normal unit (not a Hero) from the list and then change it's looks into a Hero. Same 3 lines should be changed as above ... though, if the unit is not a Hero ... it doesn't make much difference does it? (Score Screen)

@ Oh yeah! One other thing ... to make it a bit more interesting .. you can change the sound the unit makes aswell. Eveything is found if you hit Ctrl+F(Find) while in Objext Editor, with the custom unit selected, and you write "Sound" ..

in the object editor, simply go to
I forgot where it was but it should be like this
stats-Is a Hero True
set it to false or true depending on what you want

you can't turn unit into a hero if that's what are you talking about....
only way is making two different units with same model - 1 is a unit 1 is a hero and then replacing them trough triggers

what your thinking about is the booline comparison "is a hero" for conditons in a trigger
OR
what your thinking about is the feild in an ability which allows it to be a hero or unit ability

but yea, to make a hero you copy and paste a existing hero (like the human palidan) and you change the stats to match the unit (so the animations and selection circles dont get messed up)

To make a hero into unit you do the same thing, exept you copy a existing unit and you paste all the values ofthe hero into that unit.
