Making ability "Beastial Wrath", but dont know how...

Hiya! Note: english is not my native language, sorry if there's something horribly mistyped.

I'm newbie WC3 map-maker, I got most simple basics grasped, but lacking a lot of skills... So my scripting knowledge is equal to zero, and I'm only starting to play around with the triggers. I've been reading these forums for quite a while(tutorials and spells forum too), and though they've helped a lot, I cant find answer for my problem. At least one that I could undestand ^^'


I'm making a map where's hunter hero, and last skill for her is "Beastial Wrath", which is from, you quessed it, World of Warcraft.

- What I want it to do, is to give either damage bonus, or attack speed bonus, to Hunter and her Pet(or just some bonus making those two units look cool and to make lot of damage for small period of time).
So when using the skill, hunter and pet ONLY, gets the buff.

- Summoned pet works simply, hunter has skill that summons the pet(Far Seer's Spirit Wolf), and it has 3 skill levels, each summoning new more powerfull version of the pet. Stays untill pet dies, or summoned again(so no multiple pets possible).

Giving the hero this ability is no big deal, I just take Frenzy or Berserk and modify them a bit. But, how to give the buff also to the pet too?

Making it Roar-like would be easy, if it's possible to modify that only targets that could get it are hunter and the pet... So far I haven't found a way to do this.

Sorry for lenghty explanation, I tried to give as much information as possible.
Any help/tips/suggestions is/are greatly appreciated!

If you know the name of the pet or if the pet is the only nearby friendly unit I guess you could make some kind of altered bloodlust, create a dummy and and add the altered bloodlust to the dummy and tell the dummy to "Orc - bloodlust" at the pet.

To get the pet you should use a "Pick every unit within range of the caster(the hunter) matching condition(Unit-type of matching unit = Pet)"

Allright, thanks! First I couldn't make any sense out of it, but now I think I understand how to make it work... I'll explain here, because I cant actually use the editor right now, so I'm planning ahead.

-First I create dummy caster. Then I place it somewhere on the map.

-Then, I make the ability, that gives the same buff as the one given to the hunter. More specifically I make hunter's ability to be "Berserk", and the dummy caster's one "Bloodlust", and they both will give for example 130% attack speed increase. "Bloodlust" ability will have 9999999(or whatever it can be) cast range, so it can be casted from everywhere to anywhere on the map. And I also make it to be castable on any possible target, make the buffs look and do the same, etc...

-Then I make a trigger, that when the hunter uses Beastial Wrath, dummy caster casts "Bloodlust" to the pet.

Works/doesn't work?

I dont know exact triggers, but if they're not too complicated, I think I can find them with plenty of testing. Of course, would be helpfull if anyone could poke me to right direction :) Siretu's comment alone was really big help.

Hopefully I'm at the right tracks. I'll focus on the memory leak thing later on, currently it's very hard to undestand for me ^^' But I realize what leaking can do, make the game laggy, etc.

I dont have editor open at the momment but you can try something like this

first create a roar spell for the hunter and take away the buffs (and special effect if you want) and any bonuses and create a unit group array variable (in this case being called bestialwrathgroup)

event
unit enters playable map area
conditions
entering unit is in bestialwrathgroup equal to false
or
entering unit is bla bla bla
entering unit is bla bla bla
actions
add (entering unit) to besitalwrathgroup(player number(owner of(entering unit)))

event
unit casts bestial wrath
condions
none
actions
pick all units in bestialwrathgroup(player number(owner of(casting unit))) and do actions
create special effect on casting unit/picked unit
set last created special efect as variable
add (item abbility - damage) to picked unit
add " " to casting unit
add (item abbility - + attack speed) to picked unit
add " " to casting unit
add whatever other item abbility you want
wait whatever amount of time
destroy special effect variable from earlier
remove the abbilities


pretty much, your pet is always going to be in bestialwrathgroup and whenever you cast the abbility, it puts item abbilities(which are invisible icons but still have effects) and when times up, bye bye buffs. Hope it works for you

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
